| 2018 | IIC launched nationally The Ministry of Education (MoE), through MoE's Innovation Cell (MIC), launched the Institution's Innovation Council in collaboration with AICTE for Higher Educational Institutions, to systematically foster the culture of innovation and the start-up ecosystem in education institutions. |
| 2019 | IIC established at LICET The Institution's Innovation Council was established in LICET in December 2019. Its role is to engage a large number of students and faculty in innovation and entrepreneurship activities at the pre-incubation and incubation stage. |

Objectives
Seven standing objectives
Reviewed by the council each academic year. Every activity IIC runs answers to at least one of them.
01 02 Contribute to Societal Impact
Encourage innovation that addresses societal challenges and contributes positively to the local community and beyond.
03 Promote Interdisciplinary Collaboration
Bring students and faculty from different disciplines together to tackle complex challenges and generate innovative solutions.
04 Organize Events and Workshops
Conduct workshops, seminars, hackathons and competitions that stimulate innovation, sharpen problem-solving and open platforms for idea exchange.
05 Support Entrepreneurship
Provide resources, mentorship and guidance to aspiring student entrepreneurs to turn their ideas into viable businesses.
06 Foster Networking Opportunities
Organize meetups and conferences that connect students, faculty, alumni, industry professionals and investors.
07 Recognize and Reward Innovation
Establish mechanisms to identify, evaluate and reward outstanding innovations and projects among students and faculty.
